Rural Residential development
Kangaro Valley NSW

APX has been contracted to develop a large Rural Residential property in the heart of the Kangaroo valley. The project consists of 900sqm of pavement driveway and site preparation for the house and shed constructions.
The aspect of the site also called for a 130m swale drain and pipeline culverts for water management.

STAGE  1

Site Establishment / Sediment Control

The project began as a bare farm land field with Sediment control and driveway needing to be marked out and data collated into our Leica Total station system.

The APX team got to work constructing the 900sqm driveway into the property using one of our 13 tonne excavators alongside a 75 Posi-track & 12 tonne smooth drum roller. All supply and delivery of Quarry materials has been conducted using our truck and dogs.

STAGE  2

Swail drain construction / Pipeline culverts

Stage 2 of the KV project was focusing on water management, to combat erosion a 130m swail drain has been sculpted by our team to make sure the driveway to divert all water to the pipeline culvert.

Through excavation of the driveway excess material was stored in mounds along the roadway. This material was then transported to the site for the house and garage to be placed and compacted to form the basis of the house foundation.

STAGE  3

Set-out and pier drilling for the slabs

Stage 3 of the KV project was focused on the house and garage set out process.
Our Surveyor Drew marked out all points from the plans into our Leica Total Station system and using the rover to mark out the exact points needing to be drilled for piers.

Using the 13Tonne excavator the APX team using Auger attachments drilled all piers ready for concreting.

The stunning location and rural setting has been a dream to work in and we are excited to see the next stage of the build take shape as the construction of the house and garage is finalised. Stay tuned for more updates as we will be shooting a follow up video back at site soon.
